Natasha Bhamla, (they/them)
Are you seeking more clarity, connection, or steadiness in your life? Many people come to therapy wanting to feel more aligned with themselves after navigating family, cultural, and societal expectations that may have suppressed many parts of who they really are. In our work together, we slow down and build a values-rooted way of living that feels meaningful, embodied, and genuinely supportive.
I especially love working with people who live in their heads – the deep thinkers, intellectualizers, researchers, helpers, activists, and high-achieving folks who have learned to survive by understanding everything. Together, we gently explore What would it be like to not be in “it is me against my body? “What might it be like to get on the same team as your body instead of fighting it? What would it be like to have a closer proximity to intuition?
Intellectualizing is not a flaw, but it is often a brilliant survival strategy. But many emotions cannot be fully “thought through.” When feelings don’t get the chance to finish, they can turn into resistance, self-criticism, anxiety, or a persistent sense of disconnection. Therapy becomes a space where we move beyond insight alone and into deeper healing, release, and embodiment.
Research and clinical experience show that meaningful processing happens not only cognitively but also at a subcortical, body-based level. Many of us learned early that it wasn’t safe to feel or express pain, anger, pleasure, or grief in the moment. When our bodies weren’t allowed to say “ouch,” those unfinished experiences can remain stuck and continue looping. Together, we create a safe space to gently complete what never got to finish.
My work is grounded in a decolonial, systems-informed approach that honors your experiences and the wisdom you’ve developed along the way. Rather than focusing on what’s “wrong,” we explore what you’ve learned, how you’ve adapted, and how those strengths can be reshaped to better support your current life. Clients often share that this work helps them feel more connected to themselves and others, strengthen self-trust, and experience greater agency and confidence in shaping their lives.
As a South Asian, Filipinx, first-generation queer non-binary person, I intimately understand the tension of holding multiple, sometimes conflicting identities and expectations. I strive to offer a nurturing, nonjudgmental space where all parts of you are welcome, including those shaped by intergenerational survival, migration, silence, resilience, and resistance.
Being in relationship with the body can also help us discern what tension belongs to us and what belongs to systems we’ve had to survive. Many of the clients I work with carry enormous responsibility and emotional labor. Learning to listen to the body can give voice to experiences that thoughts alone cannot access, such as joy, pleasure, intimacy, grief, and relief.
My approach is intersectional, sex-positive, anti-racist, and deeply collaborative. I work with adults and teens navigating anxiety, complex trauma, identity exploration, relationship and attachment wounds, intergenerational trauma, and the impact of living in a rapidly changing social and political world. I also specialize in working with folks who are neurodivergent, including ADHD, Autism, and HSP. While I draw from psychodynamic therapy, parts work/IFS, DBT, somatic practices, and self-acceptance, I remain flexible and responsive while centering you as the expert on your own lived experience. Therapy with me often includes curiosity, challenge, compassion, and moments of humor to gently loosen patterns rooted in shame, perfectionism, or internalized oppression.
Whether you are feeling unmoored, questioning who you are beyond survival, or seeking steadier ground in your relationships and inner world, I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing.
