Psychotherapist
Hello there! As a queer, second-generation Indian-American (who is also the eldest daughter of immigrants), I felt and internalized the pressure of doing well and excelling while simultaneously struggling with not fitting in and not understanding why. One ADHD burnout and late diagnosis later, it became clear why I often felt like I was fighting my own brain without any support or understanding. I remember how isolating it can feel and strive to help provide support for those with similar struggles.
As someone who’s dealt with the label and expectations of being a “former gifted child”, I’m passionate about supporting clients who have experienced similar circumstances navigating identity, internalized messages, expectations, and the transition into adulthood. I specialize in working with undergraduate and graduate students, folks in high achieving and/or high stress careers, late diagnosed neurodivergence, infidelity, anxiety, perfectionism, and working with first timers in therapy.
My practice is rooted in anti-oppressive, culturally sensitive and liberation-based values that honor and hold all parts of you and your experiences. I often use psychodynamic, ACT, and humanistic approaches in therapy while integrating other modalities including EMDR, CBT, and solution focused work.
I believe insight can help drive the change and growth you are seeking. To that end, our work together may look like exploring internalized messages of your inner world, making the unconscious conscious, and/or deepening an understanding of your patterns. Additionally, we may work on developing strategies and tools towards supporting your goals. The intention is to go at your pace and meet you where you are with curiosity and compassion. I center you as the expert as we collaborate to help you achieve your goals.
I’m known to gently challenge and confront (always with your consent) with the intent of forefronting accountability as well. I hope to make the therapeutic space one for authenticity, warmth, and insight.
